Apple's iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max may feature a redesigned body, triple 48MP cameras, A19 Pro chip, and reverse wireless charging.
Apple is set to launch the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in September 2025, alongside the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air. Months ahead of the official launch, leaks have surfaced revealing major design changes, upgraded cameras, and performance improvements. The camera setup may undergo a significant redesign, and the Pro models may substitute an aluminum-glass body for the titanium frame. Here’s everything we know so far.

With a back panel made of both glass and aluminum, the iPhone 17 Pro series could have a new look, be more durable, and still support wireless charging in India.

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will retain their display sizes at 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch respectively. For the first time, all iPhone 17 models are expected to feature 120Hz refresh rate displays. Apple may also introduce a new anti-reflective coating, which could improve durability and reduce glare more effectively than the current Ceramic Shield.
The iPhone 17 Pro models will be powered by Apple’s A19 Pro chip, built on an improved 3-nanometer process for better speed and power efficiency. Additionally, Apple may increase RAM from 8GB to 12GB.
Apple is said to be testing 7.5W reverse wireless charging, allowing users to charge AirPods and Apple Watch directly from the iPhone. The wired charging speed is expected to remain 35W, the same as current models.
iPhone 17 Series Camera Upgrades
The 48MP Telephoto lens on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max could be a significant upgrade from the 12MP sensor on the current iPhone series models. This means all three rear cameras – Wide, Ultra-Wide, and Telephoto – might feature 48MP sensors, delivering professional-level photography. The front camera is also expected to get a major upgrade to 24MP with a six-element lens, enhancing selfies and FaceTime calls expected
It’s possible that the Wide camera will include a mechanical aperture, allowing users to manually adjust the amount of light that is absorbed for better control over depth and exposure.
